Nissan GTP ZX-T Index

Project
30 DEC 07 : Bodywork parts nearly complete. Did a quick test-build of the rear bodywork including the massive wing endplates, rear roof and fenders. There's a surprising amount of intricacy in some of the forms on this car; it continues to impress me. Some parts needed a bit more engineering work done to be a little easier to build, though I think I've got it worked out now. Full bodywork "alpha" build coming soon.
08 AUG 05 : Parts work for the front fender and nostrils done. Working currently on parts for the floor, inner armature structure, and nose surfaces. Hopefully will be able to start some test-building this week.
01 AUG 05 : Inner structure sketched out, forming the armature's plan. Parts work started for the nose, front fenders, and armature.
30 APR 05 : Making good progress on the technical illustration... not a whole lot of time to work on it, but things are definitely getting to a more refined level. Considerations for paper-panel divisions, surface forms, etc are coming into play.
16 APR 05 : Picking up this project again after it got sidelined by the P35 a couple years ago. Those early sketches have been pulled up out of the archives to study, books re-read and images scanned. . Current work is focused on creating the technical illustrations, which requires some bit of archealogy to determine the true evolution of the car and appropriate details for this model. The solid, boxy form of the car should be relatively simple to design and produce in paper... the end result of course being an accurate model of this very impressive beast. This chassis dominated in IMSA from late 1987 through early 1990; the car modeled will be in 1988 championship form... with potential for an early 1987 variant.
