Prototyp : Model : Jaguar XJR-10 / 11
Process, Part Two.
Introduction - 1 2

The outer bodywork and overall shape is fairly set, some changes may need to be made as the inner architecture is sorted out.

Careful study of available sources provides clues to how the car is designed. Apparently there was some evolution of the car over the few seasons it raced, evidenced in a few engine-bay photos I have found. Initially the intercoolers were angled back toward the turbos. Later versions had smaller (?) intercoolers mounted vertically to the ends of the side pods.

The engine and driveline is simply blanked in for now, this area of the car will be developed later.

Each level of increasing detail the requires everything to become more accurate as separate parts become more interdependant.

From the time these drawings were made, a current XJR11 owner confirmed that the underside of the nose is actually flat, not raised as I have it here. With each level of detail, more questions are raised and while some can be answered, some need to be sorted with a bit of guesswork.

The innermost structures will become the core for the model, it needing to be stable and rigid to maintain its proper shape. These chassis illustrations and the top view floorplan will be used to create working three dimensional parts.
