Jaguar XJR - 10 / 11 Index

Models
Jaguar's answer to the dominant turbo-era cars was the XJR-10 / 11 series powered by their own twin-turbo V-6. The XJR-11 was the European-spec FIA Group C competitor and underwent considerable development in its two seasons of competition. The American IMSA GTP-spec XJR-10 kept the XJR-11's original body configuration but used a smaller-capacity engine and had relied on separate aerodynamic pieces to tune its performance. More on the XJR-10/11 in Prototyp : Car > >

The XJR-11 cars are modeled as early 1990 versions in both Silk Cut and the 'purple boxes' sponsor liveries, as well as TWR's 1991 Suntec Japanese Sports Prototype Championship car. The IMSA-spec Castrol XJR-10 model contains special detail parts for the car's aerodynamic variations. Currently in progress are the 1989 Silk Cut and late-1990 wide-body Purple versions. The Full version (with complete chassis and driveline detail) is still in development.

Project
02 DEC 03 : Suntec kit released.
10 NOV 03 : Suntec kit is nearly complete. Test-builds of bodywork underway. Expect an early December release.
12 SEP 03 : Bit more accomplished on Suntec version... probably about 60% complete on parts modifications. Stalled while work on the Nissan P35 concludes.
23 APR 03 : Work resumes on the Suntec XJR-11. The livery illustrations completed previously are now in the process of being projected onto the XJR-11 kit parts.
24 MAR 03 : Babies are full of surprises... Chloe found my model stash and this was the fate of the tactile delight which was the final-build of the XJR-11 Full version : pop
05 NOV 02 : Kits for the first four Easy versions of the XJR-11 comprise Prototyp's initial release. Work continues on three more Easy-line variations as well as the Full version.
12 OCT 02 : Decided to go with better quality printing rather than faster... It's been good exploring the various printing options available, but quality is my primary concern. Parts sheets and packaging for all the XJR11 Easy line are done. One more test build out before the release to make sure I didn't miss anything.
08 SEP 02 : All three XJR-11 model's parts sheets being prepared for printing! Release date will be announced when the models are on the presses... until then it's just speculation and I've been terrribly over-optimistic in the past.
03 SEP 02 : Building illustrations finishing up (finally). Special 'Prototyp' version being built, photos soon.
30 MAR 02 : Gloss-paper color tests going well. Model 'package' designed.
29 MAR 02 : Test-builder design revision suggestions implemented (thanks, guys).
