Prototyp : Model : Jaguar XJR-10 / 11
Process, Part Five.
Introduction - 1 2 3

The final tub is being built up. The door-way panels between the tub and the outer body side were very difficult to build when the core tub was attached. These parts will be need to be modified before release. I think they will be redesigned to have slots for tabs to fit into rather than just being flaps as they are here.

As this is meant to be a structural study, more internal chassis details are added. This is the forward structure of the tub and the front suspension cross beams. As these will likely be hidden unless the builder chooses to have the doors open, the parts could be omitted.

Some parts which were finished, specifically the front suspension, were found to be wrong and will have to be redesigned. This suspension design is appropriate for the V-12 cars (XJR6, 8 and 9) but not for the XJR-10/11.

The finished roof is prepared to be glued to the chassis. The door panels and windscreen were cut out for display purposes. Separate door pieces will be assembled though their fitting will not be as tight and clean as if they hadn't been cut away. Again, more options for the clever builder to build a unique model.
